6 best TV shows streaming June 15-21 on Netflix, Max, Hulu and more (2024)

There are always new TV shows hitting streaming services, even in the summer months, and with this list I'll help you find a series or two that you'll want to binge or that'll keep you returning to screens every week.

For this week's entry in my regular streaming show round-up, I'm looking at new series hitting all of the world's best streaming services between Saturday, June 15 and Friday, June 21. Some of these are box-set shows with all episodes arriving at once, others just see their premiers this week.

It's a non-fiction-heavy week this week with only two fictional shows: one crime thriller and one fantasy. Then we've got some reality, some music and some true crime in order to sate whatever tastes you have.

House of the Dragon season 2

• Fantasy spin-off returns on Sunday, June 16

The popular Game of Thrones spin-off returns for its second season when House of the Dragon season 2 debuts on Sunday.

This show is set a long time before the events of the hit fantasy series, and tells of how the famous House Targaryen fell apart due to power struggles and infighting within its own. Expect big battles, lots of drama and a little bit of dragon action too.

House of the Dragon airs on Max on Sunday, June 16 and on Sky TV and Now TV in the UK one day later. Each new episode will hit the respective streaming services weekly until all 10 are out.

Cult Massacre: One Day in Jonestown

• Hulu true crime drocumentary arrives on Monday, June 17

The latest entry in National Geographic's One Day In series with a miniseries looking at the infamous Jonestown massacre.

Over several episodes, we'll understand the true nature of Jim Jones' Peoples Temple cult from different perspectives, in order to better understand the unsettling events that took place there in November 1978.

One Day in Jonestown is expected to air on Hulu on Monday, June 17, but there's no UK release date so far.

Agents of Mystery

• Netflix reality game show arrives on Tuesday, June 18

Agents of Mystery is basically the TV equivalent of an escape room, and it stars six Korean celebrities. In each episode they have to use their disparate skills to follow clues and solve puzzles that'll guide them through an elaborate plot.

You'll be able to watch all of Agents of Mystery on Tuesday, June 18, when the show hits Netflix in its entirety.

Perfect Wife: The Mysterious Disappearance of Sherri Papini

• Second Hulu true crime doc debuts on Thursday, June 20

The second Hulu true crime docu-series this week tells the story of Sherri Papini, a case which gripped America a few years ago.

In Perfect Wife: The Mysterious Disappearance of Sherri Papini we'll learn how the titular woman mysteriously disappeared when on a run in 2016. and then even more mysteriously re-appeared three weeks later with a story to tell about her kidnapping.

You'll be able to find out more when Perfect Wife hits Hulu on Thursday, June 20.

Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood

• Max / Discovery Plus music docuseries fills the blank space on Friday, June 21

Iconic singer Taylor Swift is the focus of Discovery's newest court feud docu-series, along with her ex producer Scooter Braun.

Bad Blood looks at how the masters of Swift's music were sold by Braun for loads of money, taking the rights to her music out of her hands, and her ensuing battle to try and take back her voice.

The two episodes of Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood will be available to watch on Max in the US and on Discovery Plus in the UK from Friday, June 21.

Gangs of Galicia

• Netflix Spanish crime series debuts on Friday, June 21

We've got Netflix's latest Euro crime series arriving this week, taking us to sunny Spain.

Gangs of Galicia follows a lawyer who moves from Madrid to the quiet town of Cambados, in order to come to terms with her past. However the crime families of Galicia notice her arrival with interest, and she could become an important catalyst in what's about to go down there.

All episodes of Gangs of Galicia arrive on Netflix on Friday, June 21.
