I have tried the Maven kodinerds v21 20240810 build for Android on my Cube 2 in Fire OS. A DV P7 file with no FEL plays and triggers DV on my LG G3, so that is something. Files with DV P7 FEL do not play correctly though. They trigger the DV logo but the colors are wrong. I have two test files for validating FEL, one CMV 2.9 and the other CMV 4.0. Both play back perfectly on this device in CoreElec. With this maven build, I again get the DV logo but the rendering is not correct, I can't see the text which indicates FEL is working.

It's a bit difficult for me to peruse Kodinerds forum because it's mostly in German and I'm just a dumb American.I did see one mention of FEL, which I believe was by you, with a link to the popular spreadsheet which omits mentioning the Cube 2 as a supported FEL player.

On my AM6B+ FEL test file "FEL BL_EL.mkv" plays OK. FEL Test CMV 2.9.mp4 plays OK, but same test for CMV 4.0 does not play OK (plays OK in CoreElec)

Since CoreElec enabled P7 FEL on this devices I stopped using Android Kodi for Dolby Vision, but still update it regularly. Don't know about FireOS settings in Cube 2, but there is one option in Kodi Settings/Player that disables P7 FEL - converts it to P8.1. In Setting/System I have Display set to3,840 x 2,160 at 60 Hz...

I also don't speak German well, but they have an German/English language switch, and in Chrome I use page translator if something is not clear to me...

Yes I am aware of the Kodi setting for on the fly DV P7 to P8, I don't have that enabled.

I'll post over on kodinerds and see if the main dev responds.

I see that you did not get any answer there, maybe my Maven's Kodi Omega settings on AM6B+ can be of some help.
Made some relevant SS of Android settings and Kodi settings and photos of test files:

Thanks. The cube 2 obviously doesn't have those same Android settings but I do have its output mode set to adaptive. Non FEL DV content does play back okay in Kodi/Kodinerds, so I think that part is good.

As for the Kodi settings, what I have mostly mirrors yours under Display and Videos.

If I go with the Ugoos AM6b+ and CoreELEC, can I run the MLB TV addin?

In general, when you say: "Not for Netflix, Prime Video & other premium streaming use"

Do you mean that the apps are not available, or there is a hardware limitation that would prevent the Kodi add-ons for these services from working as well.

Hopefully clarified by updating to say "Not for 'official' Netflix, Prime Video & other premium streaming use (but, may work via Kodi add-ons for some)".

Not a lot of reviews out there yet. Most of the ones on YT thus far are not in English but this one is:

I think overall you can expect this to do the same things the AM8 can do and not much more. No Google certification so no Netflix / Prime 4K. Probably makes a great local streamer, though.

From what I see, is just the looks. The AM8 Pro does have 3 USB 3 ports which is great for attaching external hard drives to share on the network. I just liked the looks of the SK1.
