What to Do First
Clear Lobby Stages
As a beginner, your very first priority should be clearing as many Lobby Stages as you can, as this is required to unlock all the other features and game modes in The Legend of Tartar.
Try to clear at least Chapter 1 on your first day of playing, as this will unlock plenty of content in the game and will be more than enough to give you an idea of what The Legend of Tartar is all about.
You also get a huge amount of Gems, which are used in Equipment and Artifact Draws, just by clearing Lobby Stages one after the other.
Participate in Challenge Battles
Once you unlock the Challenge feature, we highly recommend playing them to get the following growth items, all of which are valuable for your early game progression:
- Gold
- Gems
- Fried Eggs
- Artifact Boxes
- Equipment Boxes
- Meat
- Exchange Hub Items
Challenge game modes reward you with more items the better your performance is. In particular, you get more rewards in Star Quest Challenges depending on how much time you take to clear the battles.
You might not be able to clear past Star Quest 1 or Star Quest 2 as a new player, so make sure to revisit this game mode every time you power up to get as many items here as you can.
Clear New User Missions
Another very important thing we highly recommend doing once you unlock the Events feature by playing through the Lobby Stages is to clear as many New User Missions as you can.
All beginners will have access to New Mission User Missions upon unlocking the Events feature but do note that you only have one week to finish all the missions before the event goes away permanently.
The reward you get from completing all New User Missions is an Epic Artifact Ticket, which is a must-have for all new players. After all, who knows? You might just get one of the best Artifacts in The Legend of Tartar with this ticket!
How to Get Stronger Fast as a Beginner
There are three primary ways a beginner can get stronger fast in The Legend of Tartar:
Choose the Right Skills
One of the best ways to clear harder stages in this game is to simply pick the best Skills you can while clearing a stage.
Of course, you don't really have to think about this too much as a beginner since earlier stages are quite easy (you can clear them just by going full Auto), but try to at least familiarize yourself with as many of them as you can early on to figure out how they work.
If you want to know what the best skills are in Legend of Tartar so you can focus on investing in them mid-combat, then check out our Skills Tier List!
TIP: We advise getting all Unique Skills, then getting all normal Skills to 5★ (max level) for the Book rewards, which are given to you every time you 5★ a normal Skill or get a new Unique Skill. It would be a good idea to start doing this early since later stages would require you to stick to only the best Skills in order to survive.
Upgrade Tartar
As a beginner in The Legend of Tartar, there are five main ways you can increase your damage, HP, and overall stats in order to make Tartar stronger:
How to Upgrade Tartar | Required Materials |
---|---|
Level Up | Gold |
Ability | Ability Stones |
Equipment | Equipment Gold Scrolls |
Costume | Costume Jewels & Fruits Gems |
Again, it's very important that you farm Lobby Stages and Challenge Stages to get the Gems, Meat, Gold, and Summon Tickets you need to power up Tartar, so stay consistent!
TIP: We recommend that you get Rare or Epic Equipment and Artifacts for Tartar ASAP, as they give Tartar the most DPS and HP she needs to survive and clear harder stages later.
Don't Forget the Fox's Power-ups
You can unlock Fox upon clearing Lobby Stage 1-10. This Fox gives you additional DPS during combat and several buffs that affect Tartar's stats, Basic Attacks, and Skills.
Here's every method you can use to upgrade the Fox in Legend of Tartar:
How to Upgrade Fox | Required Materials |
---|---|
Level Up | Meat |
Knowledge | Gem s Knowledge Scrolls |
Fox Training | Herbs |
Artifact | Artifacts Upgrade Stones |
Skill Awakening | Skill Awakening Potions |
You also unlock the Auto Skill Selection feature along with the Fox. This feature allows the Fox to pick your skills for you during combat, which is very helpful for slogging through early game stages.
However, we recommend not using Auto Skill Selection once you get to the point where you start losing with it, as picking your skills manually is still the most optimal way to play.
The Legend of Tartar: Six Beginner Tips
Invest Your Ability Points Wisely
You accumulate Ability Stones for Tartar as you progress in the Lobby Stages. These Ability Stones can be allocated to six of Tartar's Abilities, namely:
Abilities | Stats Increased | Equipment Options Unlocked |
---|---|---|
DEX | Attack Speed | Sword |
CRI | Critical Chance | Glove |
AGI | Accuracy Rate | Ring |
LUCK | Evasion Rate | Helmet |
VIT | HP Recovery | Armor |
SPD | Movement Speed | Shoes |
What Abilities to Upgrade?
As you can see from the table above, spending Ability Stones on an Ability not only increases some of Tartar's stats but also unlocks options on a specific equipment piece, so we recommend that you spend your Ability Points on the stat that will unlock the best options you have on a piece of equipment.
For example, if you have a Sword that has better options than other equipment
TIP: All new players will get an Epic Sword via the New User Daily Rewards event on Day 3, so we advise spending most of your Ability Points on DEX if you get good options on it. Otherwise, spend your Ability Points on stats that unlock options for other Rare or Epic equipment if they have better options.
Use Up Free Quick Patrols and Gacha Summons
In The Legend of Tartar, you can watch ads to get a lot of free stuff such as Quick Patrols and free summons in the Equipment and Artifact gacha.
These ad opportunities are refreshed daily, so if you don't mind spending a fair bit of your playtime every day watching ads in exchange for freebies, then we advise you to do it!
Merge Your Duplicate Equipment
You unlock Equipment Merge after clearing Lobby Stage 1-9.
Using the Equipment Merge feature, any duplicate equipment you get from any source such as Patrols and Gacha Summons can be merged to create equipment of a higher grade:
- Merge4 Normal Grade equipment to get 1 Advanced Grade equipment.
- Merge4 Advanced Grade equipment to get 1 Magic Grade equipment.
- Merge4 Magic Grade equipment to get 1 Rare Grade equipment.
- Merge4 Rare Grade equipment to get 1 Epic Grade equipment.
Do note that Artifact duplicates can't be merged the same way Equipment duplicates can. Instead, you feed an Artifact its copies to Evolve it.
Don't Use Auto Skill Selection Too Much
As a beginner, Auto Skill Selection will get you through most of the Lobby Stages easily, but we recommend turning it off occasionally so you can try out different skills and experiment with various builds.
Moreover, Auto Skill Selection will be more and more inconsistent the harder the stages you try to clear later on, so relying on it too much in the early game isn't exactly ideal.
Clear Your Daily and Weekly Missions
If you need a checklist of what to do every day or week in The Legend of Tartar, then simply refer to your Daily and Weekly Missions.
After all, your Daily and Weekly Missions are among the most consistent sources of Gems in the game, so we highly advise you to complete them before every reset!
Always Claim Your Patrol Rewards
The Patrol feature is The Legend of Tartar's version of an AFK Rewards system. In a nutshell, it gives you items such as Equipment, Artifacts, Upgrade Stones, Gold, Fried Eggs, Meat, and even Gems passively, even when the game is closed.
The only catch is that the Patrol feature has a maximum limit on how many hours you can collect items, which can only be increased by improving your User Level via Fried Eggs.
If you want to play as efficiently as possible, you should not leave your Patrol capped out, just so you don't waste too many items you could've gained otherwise. Set alarms if you have to!
Conclusion
With that, you're now set to dominate the early game and tackle harder content in The Legend of Tartar. Just remember to play consistently and use your resources wisely, and you're good to go.
